Doing our part.
Every gallon of gas pumped at GIANT or MARTIN'S contributes to the program's impact. We offset your tailpipe emissions by investing in certified global carbon offset projects.

Still have questions? Here’s some more information on carbon offsets.
A certified carbon offset is a certificate representing the reduction, destruction or capture of one metric ton of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Certified carbon offsets are produced by certified carbon reduction projects. These projects must follow strict guidelines established by internationally recognized standards in order to generate certified carbon offsets.
Carbon offsets are purchased to negate a CO2 equivalent emission. Offsets are certified and exchanged, much like stocks, via one of the officially recognized carbon registries such as Gold Standard, Climate Action Reserve, and Verified Carbon Standard.
Carbon offsets reduce the overall effect of greenhouse gas emissions. Purchasing carbon offsets is a direct way to support existing carbon offset projects and encourage ongoing innovation.
A certified carbon offset project is specifically designed to reduce, capture or destroy greenhouse gases that would otherwise be emitted into the atmosphere. An example is a methane gas capture project at a landfill.
Several international environmental organizations define and maintain standards for the voluntary carbon market. Carbon registries track the purchase and retirement of carbon offsets, ensuring financial investments and results can be found on public records.
GLOBAL CARBON PROJECTS
Carbon offset projects are key in reducing the amount of carbon in our atmosphere. Some types of carbon projects include reforestation, solar power, and landfill gas capture. View our global project portfolio below.
